The State of Himachal Pradesh has launched the Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna in Himachal Pradesh on 23^rd September, 2018 for providing cashless treatment to the tune of Rs. 5.00 Lakh per year per family for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization.

Ayushman Bharat- PMJAY is an entitlement based scheme with entitlement decided on the basis of deprivation criteria in the SECC, 2011 database and RSBY families. This will help in improving the affordability component of Universal Health Coverage. This scheme is leading to timely treatments, improvements in Health outcomes, patient satisfaction, improvement in productivity and efficiency.

This scheme has subsumed Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojna (RSBY). As per database, 483643 RSBY families enrolled in 2014-15 are eligible under Ayushman Bharat and 278245 families are eligible as per Socio Economic Cast Census 2011, but due to overlapping in both the database, around 5.00 Lakh poor and vulnerable families in Himachal Pradesh are eligible to avail the cashless treatment benefit under this vibrant scheme. Under this scheme all the members of a family are covered. The detail of SECC deprivation criteria is as under:-

 Benefits of the Scheme are portable across the country and a beneficiary covered under the scheme is allowed to take cashless benefits from any public/ private empanelled hospitals across the country.
